My car is done for. Actually, that's not totally true. For about $300, I could get it going, no problem. But I'm getting a new(er) car is a little over a month, so why spend that much? I can survive via bus, bike and borrowed car for that long. I hope.

Public transit is a good thing. So are bikes.

Unfortunately, taking a bike on the local public transit would be exceedingly awkward. (Standing room only on the subway + a bike = evil.)

Sadly, the Twin Cities has the worst public transit of any major city.
