Fannish thoughts
Jul. 16th, 2005 01:38 pmHmmmm. Major, major handwave over the big change. I mean, it wasn't badly done, all things considered. But, like, why would Mitchell expect to take over SG-1? Sam was in charge. It was choppy, but I'm not sure there was a way to avoid it.
Bringing Vala in was great. Nice bit of a link with last season. Also, love the relationship between her and Daniel. It's not love/hate. More like lust/annoyance. Loved her line about "I've never met you" in regards to Mitchell. Gotta love a show that includes the jokes we'd make anyway. We so need to see lots and lots of her this season.
Also, what the hell was up with AT's hair? It looked like she hadn't washed it in days.
John lived. No big surprise there. Loved the Asgard grumbling under his/its breath. You just knew there was swearing involved. And between the ship's arrival in Atlantis, and Daniel's non-urgent leaving, looks like it'll be making regular trips back and forth. Either that or the writers are going "continuity? what continuity?"
Loved the science brigade in this one. Rodney forced to strong-arm the ZPM. The week vs two hour guess. Rodney hitting the floor with plans to sleep, only to get up again. Carson admitting that, eyah, getting the enzyme from the dead Wraith was a bit icky.
Liked the weir/sheppard hug, which I choose to see as a gal vs. guy thing, not a shippy thing. John looked all "Um, yes, you said you're glad I'm all right. Why are you touching me?"
Finally, like most, what was up with Ford being able to use the Jumper?
