All finished with finals. Thank goodness! I think I did decently, though maybe not great. We'll see how it turns out. Best moment on today's exam? When I couldn't remember the exact mechanics of one concept and then realized I could just say "Concept does not apply because..." and skip over the details.

Currently, it's cold and raining, and I'm huddled under some blankets, trying to stay warm. It's that damp cold that gets into everything. Yuckie.

In other news, don't expect anything out of me this weekend. I'm heading to Beloit, to see [livejournal.com profile] hermitgeecko! For the first time in, my god, three years. Eep! Looking forward to seeing people. Not looking forward to five hours of driving (of course, I think she has somethign like 17, so I shouldn't complain). Ah, well, I'll hit the library tomorrow and get some books on tape. Otherwise, I might fall asleep while driving. I have a terrible time staying alert on long road trips. For one, my car has no AC, so I tend to get warm and sleepy. Ah, well, that's what caffine is for.

Did I say she would be doing it all? No. Driving sucks even when you're just a passanger. Decades of road trips talking here. At least when you're driving you can force a road stop once in a while.

Oh, and you should stop on a regular basis. One of the most common injuries from car accidents that surgeons see is a ruptured bladder. The seat belt rips into it like squeezing a ballon. Don't I just know the best facts?

When I was taking the remarkably boring route from home to college back in the 80's, my favorite trick to keep myself awake was little smacks on the face.

When I hauled off and hit myself so hard it hurt, it was time to pull over and take a little walk. *g*
