To put it bluntly -- they suck. I'm not failing, but I'm not exactly exceling either. I'm pulling a C - C+ average. Gag. The annoying part is that it's not my understanding that's lacking, it's my ability to express my understanding. My writing is severly deficent in the "lawerly" catagory. Not surprising, since I'm not a lawyer, nor will I ever be a lawyer. Stupid legal writing. It's clear that I'm going to need more than the writing class to understand what the HELL legal writing is supposed to look like, so starting tomorrow, I'm going to do about an hour of work outside class each day. Oh, the joy.

Awwww. I don't know whether to be touched or appalled. (There are better models out there, trust me). However, since you are probably a better writer than I am.... (It took me two years to get undergrad. essay writing figured out). Book to check out to see if this is a bad idea or not "Effectitive Legal Writing" by Gertrude Block. The big problem I'm running into is that I learn by example and you don't really see any decent examples of legal writing in your classes. Any of them.
