Classes started yesterday. There should be a rule that the first day of classes, you can't have an 8 am. Icky, icky. And the prof was even in a bit of shock -- she mostly teaches afternoons and evenings. Blah. I feel like I had no vacation. But, on the plus side, we finish in late April, so long summer break. Yeah! Gotta keep positive.

It's gonna be busy for the next month or so. In Tai Chi, we're sneaking up on our New Year's demonstration. (Year of the Rooster). Eeep. I alternate between being terrified and being really excited. Of course, my part is really easy, so... Ba Gua, which I started a few months ago, is also going well. We're working on sensitivity training, which I hated at first, but as you begin to understand what's going on, is pretty cool.

Finally, books you should read:

Naomi Kritzer is awesome. She does semi-historical fantasy. Her first two books, Fires of teh Faithful and Turning the Storm are base on Italy. Her most recent book, Freedom's Gate the first of a trilogy, is based on a post-Alexander the Great era.

Also, I'd recommend Sharon Shinn's Samaria books. There are five books at the moment, a trilogy (Archangel, Jovah's Angel and the Alleluia Files) and two others (Angel-seeker, Angelica). So very, very cool. Basically, the "god" that the angels communicate with is actually a ship that the original colonists came on. Really neat.

Finally, Jane Lindskold's Fireseeker books. It's about a girl who was raised by highly intellgent wolves after her whole village died in a fire. But the village was founded by a Prince of a nearby country and a nobleman comes to find out whatever happned to them and brings the girl smack into the middle of court politics. The titles are Through Wolf's Eyes; Wolf's Heard, Wolf's Heart; The Dragon of Despair; and Wolf Captured.
