Spoilers, obviously.

I had mixed feelings about this episode. Lots of good character stuff, but the con was only so-so. Luck has always played a part in the team's work, but this seemed like luck overtook any skill. Now, that said, Sophie did a great job, working everyone on the fly. I felt like she was the only one who really got to show off her skills in this episode.

As I mentioned, there was some good character stuff. I loved Hardison freaking out when he couldn't reach Elliot, Parker or Nate. Also, Parker giving him a hug when they got back, after he's resigned himself to no hug. But my favorite was probably Parker and Elliot in the ice cave, when Elliot tells her that accepting that they can't bring Alan's body back with them doesn't make them bad people in contrast to the rest of the team's "good" people. It's just makes them... them. It made me go "awwwww."

A bit of a slow start, but it often is. I'd rather have a slow start than a slow finish (Season 2, I'm looking at you). The opening scene in Fairy was a little silly and not great production values. I swear, I heard the "fruit" clink when it was picked. I did like that Sookie forgot that everyone could hear her when speaking mind-to-mind. Oops. Her return, with Bill's and Eric's eyes flashing open at that moment, was neatly done. It helped set up the time skip.

I'm looking forward to seeing what happened during the time skip. Obviously, there's been a lot going on, but I love that they're not just laying it all out.

Like seemingly everyone else, it was obvious to me that Eric was behind the company that bought the house. Really, was there anyone who didn't see that coming? Honestly, who else would want a rundown house in rural Louisiana? Some people have commented "How did Jason have the right to sell it?" since it was too soon to declare Sookie legally dead. I figure Jason went to the courts and said "I can not maintain this house or the property taxes. Please let me sell it."

Tara. I'm not too surprised by the cage fighting thing. I could totally see her being committed to learning to fight and protect herself. The lesbian thing was a bit of a surprise, but not totally out of the blue, IMO. Maryanne always seemed to be using Eggs as a stand in for herself.

Jason. Well, I guess when you have people depending on you and no one to lean on, you grow up. Took him long enough. I was most surprised by him and Andy, with Jason trying to keep him clean, but in a good way. Not so thrilled with the Hot Shot stuff. I think it's that the show still portrays the people there as unable to do anything for themselves.

Bill. King, huh? Well, that explains the scene at the senior citizen center. It just oozed "politician." My favorite bit with him was the scene on Sookie's porch, when he and Eric talking over each other. I also liked that he walked away without angsting over things. I like him so much more when he's not with Sookie.

Eric. LOVED the PSA scene. The switch from Pam giving new meaning to deadpan to Eric's "I'm a taxpayer and small business owner" Middle America-ness was great. Not too impressed by his "You're mine" and fang-flash at the end, but I'm hoping Sookie puts him in his place. "Put those away and turn around while I put on some clothes. Don't you have any manners?" Either that, or she accuses him of doing an impression of Bill. (Heck, maybe he IS doing an impression of Bill!)

Lafayette and Jesus. Over all was kinda bland. Just didn't do much for me, which is a shame, because normally I love Lafayette. The highlight was his line "I'm sorry your bird is still dead." But other than that, the witch stuff just isn't doing much for me. Hopefully, it will get better.

Jessica and Hoyt. Okay, Jessica's scene in the bathroom with Pam was my favorite bit of this storyline. And I'm not that shocked that these two are having trouble in their relationship. They were both very sheltered and this is their first real relationship.

Terry and Arlene. "Mommy loves you, Mikey, but you can't kill people." Arlene is going to fret that poor child into all sorts of issues. It says something when Terry is the calm, logical rational one.

Sam, Tommy and... Maxine? I suspect that Tommy's is milking her need to fuss for free room and board. Whatever else you might think of him, the boy looks out for himself. And he's going to rub Sam losing control in Sam's face for as long as he can. Not sure what I think of Sam's "anger management" group.

End result? Good, but not great episode. Looking forward to next week.
