Saw Supersize Me tonight. If you haven't seen it yet, make a point of doing so. It's a great (and sometimes gross) movie. For those living under a rock, it's a documentary about a guy who eats McDonalds (and nothing but) for a month. The results are impressive in a disturbing sort of way.

The guy kinda reminds me of Moore in his style, only better. He focuses on a single issue, rather than packing three movies worth of viewpoints into a single movie. Honesly, if Bowling for Columbine (I never did figure out what the main point of that movie was) could win an Oscar, this one really needs to get the Oscar this year.

To be fair, even MacDonald's doesn't suggest that you eat their food 3 meals a day, 7 days a week...

And I still find it ironic that his girlfriend is a vegan chef...

The movie isn't just about McDonald's. It uses McDonald's to make a point about how, as a society, we view and relate to food -- very poorly. And he even admits -- no one really eats the way he did (large portions, every meal and he finishe all of it). But he has some intersting points. For instance, McDonald's has claimed that many nutritionist says that McDonald's can be a part of a perfectly normal diet. So he called 100 nutritionists and asked them. Only two agreed with McDonald's claim. Many said you should NEVER eat it.

And, yes, the girlfriend is ironic.

Hey, Terrie. It's CJ from [livejournal.com profile] deleterius. I promised you a bit of a parody involving, among other things, an original character with a horse's hoofprint for a scar. Well, I wrote it. (http://www.fanfiction.net/s/1975046/1/) Enjoy!

By the by, I've used the character I submitted to [livejournal.com profile] oc_analysis. May I assume there's nothing heinously wrong with Ms Galt, as nobody's said anything to me yet?
