Last night, I saw what may just be a first. A player threatening to appeal a scene because his character didn't die. Seriously.

Hmmmm. I'm starting to think I need a Camarilla filter.

That's bizarre. What's the story there?

So the Prince's childe (said player's character) makes a scene during Court and get's himself staked. OOC, one of the other players jokes about coup de grace and he jumps on it, talking her into actually doing it. At this point, most everyone has left, there are about 6 or 7 of us left in the room. She agrees and they talk between the two of them to mediate it out. Player of staked character goes to take a smoke, while player of killer tells everyone what they see.

One of the few players left in the room plays her character's lover, a fairly high humanity character who tries very hard to keep her out of trouble, declares that he would like to test to see if he can intervene. Big discussion of how that will work ensues. It works out to he can't stop the first attack, but her max damage wasn't enough to actually kill the staked character, so he prevents the death by intervening before a second attack.

Player of dead (or so he thought) character comes back, discovers he's not dead and throws a fit. Declares he's appealing and that the player of intervening character was cheating. Has rules explained to him, is reminded that he left and would have known all this had he stayed just a minute more, and is told he's being silly. He calms down and a result that everyone is happy with is mediated out.
