I taught myself to crochet this weekend. I'm not very good at it, and I really need to work on making the edges even and keeping a consistent tension, but, hey, I learned less than 24 hours ago. Go me.

I opted for crochet over knitting on the grounds that it's harder to accidentally stab yourself with a crochet hook than with knitting needles. Seriously.

I have not stabbed myself very often at all with my knitting needles, if that's encouraging.

I do not know how to crochet. I thought it looked scarier than knitting.

But you've still stabbed yourself, which proves there is a risk. Crocheting isn't too hard. Why do you think it's scary?
