My trip

So I went to a professional conference in Portland. Spent four days either running around like crazy, or sleeping. Or, well, trying to sleep. The hotel has down comforters and my roommate is allergic to such. The end result? She snored and I had some trouble sleeping.

Still, it was a good conference. First time I'd ever been. I got loaded down with odds and ends from vendors, went to some good presentations and met a huge number of people. Also, anyone who thinks librarians are meek and mild? Should see what happens when you get almost 2000 of us together.

The only non-conference thing I did was make a pilgrimage to Powell's bookstore. Wow. Very cool. So many, many books. Books make me happy.

Got back Wends, spent the last couple days catching up on work and sleep. Discovered that out WtF venue will probably go into hiatus, due to no one being able to commit to VST right now. Boo. Saw Dark Knight. Yeah. Um, yeah, that's all I got on the movie. Every time I try to come up with more to say, I get reduced to squeaky noises and hand flailing.

i must really not be paying enough attention.

You didn't miss anything, I just didn't mention it till I got back. The knowledge totally got buried under the god awful cold I was fighting off in the time leading up to it. I totally blanked on the fact that you live there.

Well, to be honest, i don't remember where you live, or whether you're still in your home town (which i am - yes, i am incredibly spoiled, i know, and Powell's is a shrine).
