Today, I attempted to make bread. I've been cooking most of my life, but have never been much for baking. I had hoped to change that. Well, this time around, I'm still not much for baking. I botched it. Not horribly. The results were edible. Just not very tasty. Careful rereading of the recipe shows that I used the wrong kind of yeast. Prior to today, I didn't even know there were different kinds of yeast. Ah well. Next time, I will do better. And there will be a next time.

If you need any help or advice with bread baking, let me know. I've been doing it for several years and am familiar with the different kinds of yeast (I mostly use instant- I buy it by the pound and keep it in the freezer), flour (bleached all-purpose, unbleached all-purpose, bread flour, whole wheat, white whole wheat, semolina, etc.), and salt that could be involved.

And I'm trapped in a house with someone on a low-carb diet and I can't bake because I'd be the only one to eat any of it... *snif*
