The State of Me
Jan. 27th, 2008 08:01 amSo things have been fairly quiet over all, but some good stuff has happened. First, I gave my first lecture. (As librarians, we are often requested to give talks to classes about doing research in an area). It went great. Nothing but compliments all around. This was probably helped along by the one month+ I spent prepping the darned thing.
In other news, I bought a real bed. I've been sleeping on a futon for the last couple months. NOT comfy. It is, in fact, extremely lumpy. SO I'm looking forward to a decent nights sleep.
Finally, I saw Atonement the other day. Very good film, though it IS a period drama and probably not to everyone's taste. I enjoyed the first part better than the second part, but it was all good. The one odd thing about it was that I walked out of the movie with the realization that Keira Knightly looks an awful lot like Winona Ryder.
