We went to see "I am Legend". It was a decent enough movie. The CGI was rather poor for this day and age, especially with a movie that was obviously supposed to be big budget. But Will Smith was excellent, which is good because he's it for a good 80% of the movie. I was disappointed in the ending, which is a massive change from the book. I also found the cinematography to be a bit of a problem. It was jerky, probably meant to add a sense of urgency, but I found myself going "Wait, if he's all alone, who's holding the camera?"

Sill, the scenes of an empty NYC are impressive and make this a big screen movie. And, as I said, Will Smith does a good job of carrying this movie.

ETA: Spoilers in comments.

Would you mind spoiling me for the ending? I'm a fan of the book, and I've been debating on whether to go see it. The end could be a clincher.

He finds the cure. He dies to save the world. This is the "legend" of the title. The legend of the guy who saved humanity. Blah.

But the first half was great.
