We went out to dinner for my birthday, came home, and my mom's boss was trying to get a hold of her to make sure she was okay. Why? Because a highway bridge collapsed. No reason to think it was blown up; it just collapsed. So now we're calling everyone we know to assure them that, yes, we're alive and all right. We just weren't answering the phone because we were cheerfully dining in ignorance.
