My trip to boston was great. I got to see [livejournal.com profile] hermitgeecko and [livejournal.com profile] beloitst. Got to meet various other people, who I had heard much about, and now have a face to put with the name. Met [livejournal.com profile] hermitgeecko's boyfriends, who I have decided I approve of and she may keep them.

We did a couple touristy things, like the Aquarium and the Harvard Museum of Natural History. We also got to check out the Collection of historical Scientific Instruments. It wasn't something we'd planned ahead of time. Rather, it was suggested by a someone who knoes someone who'd heard it from someone kinda thing. But it was really cool.

[livejournal.com profile] hermitgeecko and I went to Taste of Cambridge. It was tasty and fun. Except for the scallop that was served cold, with a slice of avocado and citrus. Very unpleasant. I loved the fish tacos from one place, which was apprently not the fanciest restaurant tehre. But they had a nice, clean flavor, weren't very heavy and not overly fishy. Yum. Lots of tasty desserts as well. I really liked the chocolate mousse and the chocolate dipped cookie thing we grabbed on the way out. A definate success.

I got to talk Cam stuff and trade gaming stories with lots of people, which was fun. It was nice that almost everyone responded to the "mercy killing" of my last Forsaken character with "You're kidding me!" Yeah, sad that I lost my character like that (I'm mainly bummed that I didn't really get a death scene), but it did lead to the great line "Why would you send someone with me if you wanted them to live?"

Was surprised and a bit saddened by some of the connections between NM Cam and Boston area Cam. I promise you, we are not all cheesemonger asshats. There are some really great people in the ABQ game. There are asshats in NM, I'm sure, but I haven't run into any ABQ players who are like that. Rio Rancho, our other chapter, I can not speak to, since I have never played there. If anyone is ever in the area, I'll limit intros to people I know not to be asshats. How's that? (I just really like the word 'asshat'. Can you tell?)

Other than an excessive number of church groups on my various flights, transportation went fine, to Boston, in Boston and back home. On the way out, there was a Catholic group. The members behind me kept talking abotu the great experience their kids were having do work with Right to Life, NM. IT was... odd. And on the way home, there was a group waiting at the gate next to mine in Houston, with one kid talking about how he wanted to take a picture of the gate sign that said "Albuquerque" because he thought it looked funny. Cute, kid. Real cute. *rolls eyes* As for transportation IN Boston, I think I fell in love with the T a little bit. ABQ's public transportation is, at best, okay and doesn't run nearly late enough on weekends.

I did take pictures, and will be posting them eventually. But I spent yesterday running around picking up pets and doing other errands, and today I work. I'll post the pictures when I have time.
