It's a brand new year
Aug. 19th, 2006 02:19 pmClasses start this Thursday. I'm actually looking forward to some of my classes, but, over all, I can't stand the beginning of the year. It's full of new students who need their hand held over everything. They don't know where anything is (despite being told at orientatio), and they never know what their talking about. I mean, I get that, yeah, it's a lot to take in, but stop with the suave "I'm so sexy" tone of voice when you're asking me where the bathroom is. Makes you look stupid.
On th plus side, this is the last weekend with no reference. NExt week, I'll have someone to hand the worst cases over to, like the paralegal students. They're both the best ("I found this information this way. Is there a better way to do it?") and the worst ("How do I go about citing cases?" when what she wanted was how to find cases. BIG difference there.) Of course, I applied for a part time reference position at another law school locally, so I could end up having to deal with some of that. Of course, I think we're the most popular law library with the public. I mean, we even get nursing students studying here all the time. We're just too darn helpful for our own good.
