Registration was today. It sucked before I even sat down to register. At least half the classes were on Thursday nights. Very hard to put together something that wouldn't overlap. And I had it easier than most full-time students, because I'm doing an independant research class.

But then I went to register. And found a hold on my record. The HECK? This was the first I'd heard about it. I tried for 45 minutes to get through on the phone to the person I needed to talk to. Then gave up on the phone and went to the office in person. Found out there was a problem with my fin. aid.

Last year, I was told that the lender I was getting my govt. loans through wouldn't make me fill out a separate form if I later got a private loan. The student worker who told me this was wrong. (The Fin. aid lady kept trying to cover her rear by suggesting I'd misremembered or misunderstood, but I don't think so).

Got it all worked out, and was only a couple hours late registering. The pain -- literally -- was that I was so stressed out by this that my muscles tensed to the point of some really serious cramps through my shoulders. I had a muscle spasm a few years ago, and, ever since, I've been rpone to pain in that shoulder. OW! Combined with my frustration, it was enough to put me in tears.

Thankfully, it all worked out. None of the classes I wanted were full, and the only trouble I had was trouble I would have had anyway. For instance, I was preregistered for one required course, but had to change the section. Only, it wouldn't let me sign up for a new one until I dropped the old one, and I couldn't drop it until I added another class (it won't let you have 0 classes), and the ones I kept trying to add kept overlapping with the class I was trying to get rid of, so I couldn't sign up.... I ended up adding a totally random class and then dropping it once I'd adjusted my schedule.
