Ah, weekendiness

So my folks aren't back from kayaking yet. They said they'd be back around 5ish, but, oh well, it was an estimate. Of course, when they do get home, they're going to whine about "Why didn't you cook? What the hell ahve you been doing all afternoon?" Never mind that I know my mom had something planned for dinner, but I don't knwo what. Nor did anyone tell me I needed to cook. Nor has anyone called to tell me to throw didnner on and, even if I knew what to make, I do enough meals during the week when I don't know hwo to time it. Sorry, not tonight.

Current obssession is Naomi Kritzer, who writes historical fantasy, but goes beyond "generic feudal setting". Her current trilogy (the second just came out) is based on Macadonia. Very, very neat. Also waiting on pins and needles for the new season of Atlantis, though the new season of 4400 certainly helps to tide me over. It's not exactly a bad time to be a geek. Still haven't seen Star Wars. I know, I know, that makes me a terrible person. Then, come fall, there's Serenity and the latest Diane Duane book.

Other than that? Not much going on. I lead a very boring life, I admit. My mom's on my case for me to get a social life, but truthfully? I'm perfectly happy without one. I'm just not a very social person. But we'll see. Maybe I'll find more nerds in my area. Nerd companions are the most fun.
