Apr. 25th, 2005 11:53 amSo today a couple of students were whining about how we got MLK day off, but not Easter, and gee, I guess MLK is more important than Jesus. Then they whined about all the "special interest" liberal student orgs. Sorry to disappoint, but groups like, say, the American Indian Law Students Association, is a student association about American Indian law. That many of the members are American Indian is not too surprising, but you don't HAVE to AI to join. Or, for instance, a very straight guy in our class was involved with OUT!law (GLBT group). Or one of the officers of the Black LSA is very, very white. So please stop complaining about how disgusting liberal the school is, and how you want to form a Norwegian Law students association and refuse memebership to anyone without blond hair and blue eyes. It makes you look stupid.
The school makes accomidations for religious belief, regardless of what those beliefs are. You were free to take Good Friday off for religious reasons without penalty. Please stop asking for special treatment just because you're a member of the majority religion. It makes me embarrassed to have any conservative leanings on any issue.
