For any who've been following it, the fourth chapter of Draco Malfoy vs. the Fangirls is up.

So, yesterday was the LSAT. I think I did okay. I finished all of the sections completely, which puts me ahead of several people. It wasn't too hard, just really long. Five hours long. Six sections of 35 minutes, plus too many directions, procedures and a guy who was disrepectful enough to show up 15 minutes late. By the end, my brain wasn't capable of much more than "urgh". (Did I mention it was five hours long?).

Actually, I saw PoA some time ago, but have yet to comment. I'm of mixed feelings on it. Okay, it's true the look was much better than the first two. Slicker and more cinematic. But I wasn't very fond of the pacing. I thought that was rather poorly done. The beginning felt very rushed, while the end dragged somewhat. Also, I realize things needed to be cut. I get that. It was a very long book. But to then triple the length of the time turner scene! That seriously annoyed me. The biggest problem was that it completely changed the tone of the story. PoA is fairly suspenseful, with the feeling of dread brought by Black and the that ebtween the Black plot and the Buckbeak plot, the feeling of tumbling towards disaster. You don't really get the same feeling from the movie at all. I would have accepted the changes made much more if they hadn't changed the mood like that. Now, I don't want to give the impression that I thought the whole thing was terrible. I loved how they did Draco. He's a coward who bullies others. That came through wonderfully. Despite what other people have said, the portrayl of Lupin matched my impressions from the books (well, except for the mustache. I agree with everyone who was struck with the giggles due to the mustache). And Buckbeak was wonderful.

The other downside to seeing the movie had nothing to do with the movie, but with the theater. First, the sound was up so loud at the beginning that several of us went to complain. Afterwards, I almost wished they hadn't turned it down. In front of me were four sqeualing fangirls who had hysterics at several points in te movie. And to my left was a girl who was either really stupid or had never read the book (or both). She kept asking her companion questions about what was happening. I had to sush her several times and got dirty looks as a result.

In other news, I came home to a dog in our back yard. This wouldn't have been so odd except that:
1) It wasn't our dog.
2)The gates were all shut.

I'm also a little disturbed that her owners had NO clue she was out of her own yard. If it weren't for the fact that she's from a house right across the street and teh family attends or church, so they know that we know Rosie is their dog, I'd have been tempted to keep her. Poor thing had mats, too.
