terrieSo I'm not even lvl 10 yet in Nethack, but I've already found a magic lamp (got me some dragon scale mail), a spellbook of identify, and now a wand of wishing with three charges.
In other news, I finally sat down to watch Twin Peaks. I was too young to see it when it was on TV, but I'd always heard great things. Also, one of my favorite shows, Carnivale, has been described as "For people who found Twin Peaks too straight forward." And... I just couldn't get into it. I think it was the comparison to Carnivale that got me. I was expecting epic mythology building, and got something obviously made up as it went along. Also, there's the same thing I run into with David Lynch. I always feel like it quirkiness for the sake of quirkiness. "Hey, wouldn't it be neat/creepy/weird (all at once) if we did X?" If I wanted unanswered questions or a total mind screw, I'd go read a novel by Shirley Jackson.
