Unexpected side effects

I have one friend who can not fathom the idea that people may not agree with his reasoning. He's a smart guy, but he just has this huge blind spot when it comes to the idea that people may think differently than him.
Even worse, his boyfriend can't seem to say "no" to him and goes along with it, so it's often the boyfriend who people take their frustration out on, because trying to get Mr. "I'm always right" to see the light is less productive than beating your head against the wall.
